The Ford Model T was produced from 1908 to 1927 and is noted as being the first mass-produced, affordable vehicle. Its low cost was greatly attributed to its assembly line construction, which produced the vehicles faster than their paint could dry.

"If you can get into a new vehicle for $30,000, it's going to be a good price point," Shane Collins, general manager at Bill Collins Ford in Louisville, said.

Ford Motor Company will invest nearly $2 billion to convert a longtime auto manufacturing plant in Louisville to build electric vehicles from a new platform adaptable to multiple vehicle types, aiming to launch a mid-sized EV pickup truck by 2027.
