The Baltimore Orioles have some serious young talent on the roster. A perfect managerial hire would be a young guy in his own right.

Baltimore rookie right-hander Brandon Young lost his bid for the first perfect game in Orioles history with four outs remaining in a 7-0 win over the Astros.

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Brandon Young lost his bid for a perfect game against the Houston Astros on Friday night with two out in the eighth inning on an infield hit by Ramon Urias.

On his 24th batter of the game against the Houston Astros, Young allowed an infield hit to infielder Ramón Urías, whom the Orioles traded to Houston at the deadline. Urías hit a soft grounder to Young's right, just far away enough that he had to make a rushed and off-balance throw that veered wide of first base, allowing the batter to reach second.

Samuel Basallo had an eventful MLB debut, Dean Kremer shoved and the Orioles’ young core went off offensively in a 12-0 win over the Astros.

On Friday, Orioles rookie right-hander Brandon Young came within four outs of a perfect game. On Saturday, Baltimore called up outfielder Dylan Beavers (the club’s No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline), who then made his big league debut.
