Mass Effect 5 is BioWare's only big project
Mass Effect 5 is BioWare's only big project after Dragon Age: The Veilguard, studio veteran predicts, but "isn't ready to suddenly have a team of 250, 300 people"
But the situation could eventually mean that BioWare can fully focus on "making the best Mass Effect it possibly can"
Next Mass Effect Isn't Going to Be Ready for a Long, Long Time, Suggests BioWare Vet
"Mass Effect isn't ready to suddenly have a team of 250, 300 people working on it," says Darrah (as transcribed by GamesRadar ). His reasoning is that the new Mass Effect wasn't "up and running" in parallel to The Veilguard, and so unlike past BioWare projects, it's not a case of simply having everyone jump from one game to another.
Mass Effect 5 "isn't ready to suddenly have a team of 250, 300 people working on it" now Dragon Age: The Veilguard is done
The next Mass Effect project is still growing in size and isn't ready for the bulk of BioWare staff to jump aboard, former studio veteran Mark Darrah has said.
‘The Veilguard’ Was A Sales Disaster — Here’s What BioWare Got Wrong, And How To Make ‘Dragon Age’ Great Again
Going back to the developer’s roots. Here are a few ways that the game fell short, and simple solutions if BioWare is given the chance to make another Dragon Age title (or any other RPG, for that matter).
EA says Dragon Age: The Veilguard sales are "down nearly 50% from the company’s expectations"
A weird week for BioWare just got a little weirder, as EA reveals in its new quarterly financial statement that Dragon Age: The Veilguard unperformed sales expectations by 50% for the company's 2025 fiscal year third quarter.
BioWare Is Only Working On One Game At A Time, Says Dragon Age Veteran
Dragon Age veteran Mark Darrah explains how BioWare became a "single project studio", after previously working on multiple games at once.
‘Dragon Age: The Veilguard’ Performed Half As Well As Expected, Says EA
A new game, particularly one ten years in the making after a GOTY-winning sequel, underperforming by a full 50% is dire. You’ll also notice from the wording there that it says “engaged” not “sold,” as this number includes those who might have played via EA Play. So sales are likely not much above a million.
