I recommend the guide as well. You can go through the museum on your own but a guide adds so much more to you experience there.

Don't miss the brand new memorial to the Higgins landing boats inaugurated on 7 June 2015. He was born in Nebraska - the exact middle of the USA but he actually designed and built the landing boat used in D-day in 1944! I am in Nebraska presently and am so sorry to have missed this!
