I would buy a good map at one of the gas stations. I bought my waterproof map of Iceland from Amazon and highlighted the routes I wanted to take. Also, you could use GPS. The whole country has wifi but it is spotty. Buying a SIM card when you get to the airport was the best move we made!!!
